The Senior Category Manager, US Indirect Procurement is responsible for managing/enforcing purchasing policies for all indirect (non-TTF device) supplies and services across various Indirect Procurement spending categories.  The position is part of the Global Procurement Organization, and is a full-time exempt position, Monday through Friday. 


The Senior Category Manager will lead Procurement efforts for specific categories within Novocure, such as Marketing, IT, HR, and Legal.  Specific spend within Marketing includes Marketing Promotions, Advertising and Sales, Print & Fulfillment, Speaker Programs, Public Relations Advisory Services, creative, and digital media services.  Other spending categories the Senior Category Manager will lead include IT (Enterprise Applications), as well as HR and Legal professional services.  The Senior Category Manager shall focus on the development and delivery of category strategies that are aligned with Novocure corporate strategy and Supply Chain KPIs.  These include: identify and implement cost-down, risk-reduction, and/or service-enhancing opportunities by sourcing (including qualification and selection of new providers) and negotiating with vendors for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment and services used by Novocure Inc.   In this role, the Senior Category Manager will partner with the US Commercial Organization, IT, HR, Legal and Other departments as required to identify Contractual needs and opportunities for enhanced service offerings, providing Novocure with a competitive advantage, working directly with our agencies, consultants, and suppliers outlining partnership expectations consistent with Company Quality and Procurement policies.   These functions will be performed under little direct supervision in accordance with acceptable medical device quality standards and regulations. 


The Senior Category Manager will access and utilize all relevant market intelligence to stay current on factors impacting future models and strategies, as well as monitor the competitive landscape to keep abreast of emerging trends, supply/demand, industry changes and their overall impact to current and anticipated spend.  The Senior Category Manager must be able to effectively communicate the sourcing strategies, spend analytics, as well as market intelligence to key stakeholders on a routine or as-needed basis.


Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

The Senior Category Manager must possess the following knowledge base, skills and abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of agency operations, and preferably, experience working with advertising agencies.
Strong contract negotiation and contract drafting/review skills with respect to IT Enterprise Applications forms of Contract and other professional services agreements including Contingent Workforce and HR Professional Services.
Knowledge of best demonstrated practices in structuring agency contracts. Awareness of client-agency and media/advertising legal environments.
Demonstrated ability to interact with various internal/external stakeholders, with exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Ability to collaborate with internal departments, arriving at and executing an action plan consistent with corporate objectives
Specific required and preferred skills:

Contract Negotiating / execution experience
Strong analytical skills
Proficient in SAP or other ERP system (direct SAP experience a plus)
Proficient with MS Office suite

Education - Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related area required; MBA a plus.

Minimum 5 years of Indirect procurement/sourcing experience
Experience in a medical device or pharma environment required. Experience in Marketing Operations, Brand Management, Agency Management is required.  Other Procurement experience with Professional Services, HR, Legal, IT, R&D Indirect Goods & Services desirable.
Deep experience with sourcing processes and tools including the 7-step sourcing process
Experience producing high quality analytics/models, completing the associated action plan.
