The Medical/Scientific Communications Specialist reports directly to the Vice President of Medical Affairs.

Position Summary
The position will be responsible for the planning and execution of all medical communications, including medical information and patient/family inquiries regarding Novocure and our products/clinical trials. This role serves as a resource for all company employees concerning, scientific data/physics principles and current literature.

The position will also be integral to medical communications functions including:
•Developing Medical/Scientific Messages
•Developing Field Materials for use by Medical Affairs Team (development, review, approval and roll out)
•Reporting and tracking all pertinent scientific literature
•Publication Planning (current and ongoing)
•Developing content for, and tracking of medical congresses (International, National, Local and Regional)
•Advisory Boards (International and National)
•Managing Grants and Charitable Giving
•Identify and screen appropriate vendors, solicit, evaluate and approve proposals
•Thought Leader development
•Partnering with Advocacy Groups and Professional Societies
And other Medical Affairs functions as needed.
•Must have a clinical/scientific background. Pharmacist (PharmD or RPh), Registered Nurse (RN), Physician Assistant (PA), Medical Doctor (MD, DO), Degrees in related science field (PhD, Masters), Bench/preclinical work or other relevant experience
•A background in physics (preferred)
•At least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or device industry (preferred)
•At least 5 years of clinical oncology experience (preferred)
•Working knowledge of legal and regulatory environment, with corresponding Guidelines (ACCME, AdVaMED, FDA, etc)
•Member of DIA (Drug Information Association) (preferred)
•Must have excellent written and verbal skills (with the ability to give formal presentations), able to prepare materials for a wide variety of audiences from professional to patient.
•Able to travel to meetings and seminars as needed (participates in competitive intelligence as needed)
•Must have the ability to adapt and change in a shifting environment
•Able to meet deadlines
•A strategic, passionate, self starter who works well in large and small teams, ability to work remotely
•Ability to travel 15% of time

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Manages communications concerning medical information inquiries that are submitted via mail, email, telephone and other modes. Develops standard responses to frequently asked questions. Answers all "one off" questions in a timely fashion. Coordinates efforts with the field liaisons.
Manages the development of HCP and patient education materials related to Novocure products, disease awareness and the therapeutic area, which may include slide decks, teaching guides and other tools as necessary. Publication planning (ongoing function) activities, support other departments as needed in advisory boards, training needs and reference sources.
Participates in internal meetings, prepares reports and presentations, administrative duties. Literature searches. Meets with vendors. Supports department needs
Travels to meetings, represents company, serves as a resource

Functional Knowledge and Skills
Advanced knowledge of the therapeutic area and Novocure products
Functional knowledge of physics and how it is used in NovoTTF
Able to understand and communicate complex scientific data, including MOA of Novocure products, clinical trial designs, and related scientific concepts
Expert in formal, professional presentations.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Able to write professional, scientific responses to HCP inquiries
